Procrastination – The Route of all Evil!!!

As you all know, I decided to jump in not just feet first but headfirst into the abyss of the swimming pool that is NaNoWriMo! I had the inspiration, the main character and a bloody good idea for an amazing psychological thriller. My head was telling me, no but my heart was yearning for a childhood dream to be lived. I needed to just get on and do what I have always wanted to do and write a novel. This is something that I’ve always wanted … not just an idea but a dream! I’ve never thought myself capable of something so big and always doubt myself and wonder if I would be capable so I just thought .. ‘Sod It! I’m gonna do it!’ with the backing of my daughter who of course at 15 already knows if I will succeed, she gave me the go ahead to write a book! Thanks for permission daughter!

So October rolls around fast and as accomplished writers and winners of NaNoWriMo know October is actually called Prep-tober in the writer world! We are at the end of the first week and I have done zilch to prepare! How can that be? I have this idea that could be amazing once written and edited but I’m sat trawling through Pinterest searching for posts about story outlines, character profiling and locations which I’m saving to boards for future reference! But I don’t actually have anything written down relating to my story idea!

I feel like your doing stuff but in actual fact, I’m not! I’m web surfing for articles that I haven’t and probably won’t even read or made notes on! What a crazy waste of 7 days, 168 hours, 10’080 minutes and 604’800 seconds of my precious time!!

And here I am doing it again!  I may as well throw in a video on Procrastination! Just to waste another few minutes of my time! it explains all I actually do in this black hole of wasting time! She has great tips!
