8 Times That Take That Will Have You ROFL on Carpool Karaoke!

Carpool Karaoke with Take That and James Corden

Comic Relief would not have been complete without James Corden and his Carpool Karaoke. It is now an essential part of Comic relief after last year when James Corden appeared with George Michael and created what it is today. As is, in all James Corden’s sketch videos he ropes celebrities into singing along with him as he transports them to their next appearence which is normally held at the CBS studios in Los Angeles. The show was originally a feature on James’ late night US talk The Late Late Show.

Comic relief 2017 had us in stitches as we watch Take That band members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald as they sing along with James Corden.

Here are the top 8 reasons to watch the video!

  1. What is funnier than four grown men embarrassing themselves wearing little red foam noses? No man can be taken seriously looking like that but in all true Comic Relief spirit they do it to raise money.
  2. The reference to the spandex thrown onto the stage in replacement of knickers and bras… obviously now their original fans are now in their 40’s and 50’s and not young teenage girls. us older fans need a little tight elastic to help hold everything where it should be.
  3. The fact that it really is time for Howard to retire. He is just there to make up the numbers right? Duo’s never do well … unless in some irony they are Irish band Jedward and for comical effect.
  4. The amazing singing! It doesn’t matter how old Take Thats fans are, the songs still take you back 25 years to the 90’s and the ultimate Take That tour!
  5. The funny story of Take That trying to break out in America … checkout from 10.15 minutes into the clip.
  6. Mark Owen looking like he is either drugged up and high, drunk, has hay fever or is severely allergic to something. He looks like he has aged considerably and most likely from his alcoholism. I was pretty shocked to see him now after his time in rehab.
  7. The glimpse of Howard’s body! Nothing like a bit of eye candy!
  8. The story of trying to break America and some very questionable choreography.

Overall though with all joking aside, Take That have always been an iconic band. It really doesn’t matter how old you are because the feelings when listening to their songs still evoke emotions from the time everyone listened to Take That. It’s a fun clip of a group of four guys having fun and reminiscing to their songs and the high of a successful boy band of the 90’s. James Corden did well this year! The ultimate question though is should James join and become member 5?

The Blind Date #4

a7eb322c733e4dce401107d8714bdc16

Candice was late for a lunch date with Drake. She hurried along the busy  London streets to try and catch up time to arrive before he did. She wanted to arrive before him so she had time to observe at a distance and run in case he was another weirdo like the last one.

The air was warm with a touch of heat, enough to make sweat marks on the underside of her pale tunic. She flings her long, dark chestnut hair over her shoulder to cool down her neck from the clamminess.  She was unsure of the time but to take a moment to check would slow her down. She notices the man in front of her walking with a sway as he took long strides along the pavement. He has an aura of confidence with his smart dark blue jeans and white shirt. His sleeves rolled up halfway between his elbow and wrist which held a Rolex and exposing tattoo’s peeking out of his sleeve. He bumps into a man walking toward him. As they collide, a piece of paper falls out his pocket which she retrieves as it whooshed past her and settles on the ground. She picks it up and rushed to catch him so she can reunite the scrunched up piece of scrap.

‘Excuse me.’ She slips through the crowd as she sees him getting away with his long strides. She picks up pace and catches him. ‘Sorry, can I get through’ she says as she squeezes between the strangers slowing her down. Candice is a few steps away as he stops in front of her, and checks his pocket. She smacks straight into his rear and trips over the curb where he was waiting to cross. Two girls outside Costa, sipping Lattes titter at her clumsiness and snigger to themselves. As she glares at their rudeness she taps him on the arm.

‘Excuse me, Hi, you dropped this.’ Her smile turns into awe as she drinks in his face as he turns towards her. She is taken aback at his sheer perfection!  She freezes and stares as she takes in his neat facial hair trimmed to firm perfected lines around his strong sharp jawline. His face tanned with the most piercing aquamarine eyes she ever saw. Hair so dark and naturally smooth, partly shaved to the side and an aroma of spicy aftershave. She opens her mouth to speak as she faulted and apologies ‘Sorry… but… Shit! Your the most beautiful man I ever saw!’

‘Urr, thank you? I’m flattered.’  He turns away with a puzzled look and frown that a beautiful stranger complemented him so frankly yet so sorry he doesn’t have the time to properly complement her back. He takes the paper from her outstretched hand and smiles, holding it up ‘Thank you. You too. Well… not a beautiful man obviously. Your beautiful too.’

‘… Thank you.’  Candice, not being used to compliments, lowers her eyes a little embarrassed,  which he finds endearing.

She calls after him as they walk, ‘I understand it’s bizarre to tell a stranger they are beautiful, especially a man but You are! It’s your eyes… they are absolutely mesmerizing. I just had to tell you!’

He smiles at her over his shoulder and reluctantly faces forward again and continues his rushed journey to his destination that he is already late for. He wants to arrive before her to be the gentleman he is.

A few meters up the road Candice sees the newsagents and quickly nips in to buy polos. She picks up the pace as she notices the time as leaves the shop in a hurry. Two minutes to be at the uptown cafe. She thinks to herself of the perfect man born to be a model and wonders why she isn’t lucky enough to meet such gorgeous men like him on Lonelyhearts.com. Sherolls her eyes as she realises any guy that gorgeous would not be single. With those looks he could have pick of all of the available girls in London.

She sees the Cafe on the corner. A local French Pattisiere in the Centre of London. She rushes across the road and pushes open the heavy door with its long vertical brass handle and drops her bag to her feet  upon entering. She bends down to pick it up admiring the black shoes polished so shiny she could check her makeup in them. She raises her eyes and stares into the pools of ocean blue.

He passes her the bag and she stands slowly as she drinks him in. ‘It seems we meet again.’

‘Yes. I’m meeting someone here. You?’

‘Me too. A blind date actually.’ She smiles. ‘Drake’

‘Yes?’ he looks puzzled at her as the realisation washes over him and grins at his luck.

‘His name is Drake.’ she looks at him puzzled.

‘Yes. I am Drake, it is a pleasure to meet you officially.’

‘Fucking hell! Hi!’

A New Year!

tumblr_m5oig69WsI1rwmmmlo1_1280.jpg

I will apologise for the lack of presence on my blog… Its because NaNoWriMo happened and then Christmas. It’s unfortunate that they fell at the same time and I decided that with so much ‘stuff’ going around in my brain I couldn’t cope with all of them occupying it at the same time. I need a break frankly from the PC. It’s technology that I dislike but in the modern world it is essential. Well I had a break … of two months and it probably was a lot longer than I anticipated and life just gets in the way!

I am now back and will be posting regularly once again!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I know I’m two weeks late with greetings but it would-be rude of me not to ask!

My holidays were eventful and they were very busy! Normally Christmas and New Year is filled with many pyjama days wrapped in quilts, coffee in hand and tins of chocolates surrounding us with Netflix marathons galore but this year although this year I had only two lounge around days!

We were happily engaged with celebrations galore! Four Christmas dinners later and many family members competing for title of ‘The Winners’ while playing women versus men, Best of British, Smart Ass and Articulate the men winning as normal … it was pretty fun and the wine flowed!

We hosted New Year’s Eve too. The house was full of family from both our sides  and an emotional realisation that it was the first time we were all in one room together since my Mum passed away in 2007. It was lovely to spend time with my family, something that we don’t do very often and even though we say we must meet up more, life becomes busy and it never happens. A few tears were wiped away and family photographs were taken to remember the occasion which probably won’t happen for a few more years to come.

We all saw the clock strike twelve as fireworks lit up London’s skies … we were viewing via BBC… we saw in New Year. We half sang and half hummed along to ‘Auld Lang Syne’ and pretended to know the words … of course only half of us did so just made the movement of lips to pretend!

Memories were made and was a fabulous holiday period. Celebrations are finished for now but there is a lot to look forward to this year too!

I’m back and can’t wait to get back into routine!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my  friends over the pond.

I’ve woken up today in a happy mood. Whether that is because I slept well or if it’s because i hit 29’000 word count for my novel, I’m not sure. What I am sure about is that I have a lot to be thank for. When it comes to life we have to be thankful to have our family and friends, a career that makes money to keep a roof over our heads and our health. we are alive so embrace it!

Here are my Top 5 things that today I am grateful for …

il_fullxfull-710823803_tg2k

Firstly, I am thankful for waking up this morning! We come across so many people through our lives who lose loved ones. So many of us have health problems or to daily issues to deal with in our lives that sometimes we forget the most important thing of all and thats that we are alive!

Today marks fifteen years since I lost my Dad to illness. He is always in my thoughts but today I am thankful for the memories I have of my parents.

I am thankful for my health. My health isn’t the greatest to be honest. I struggle everyday with small tasks from drying my hair to walking up stairs. By allowing time to get ready in the morning and to work through the tasks of each day I am still thankful because my health could be worse! For now it is manageable.

I’m thankful for my family and children. They are my world! They are always there when I need cheering up and to see their little faces smiling at me could warm a million hearts!

They are my little life angels to carry me. I love them with all my heart as I do my partner. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I’m thankful for being able to read and write. This might seem like an odd thing to list as one of my five things to be grateful for but without these two very important things I wouldn’t be right here now writing this blog! I’m writing my first novel and without reading I wouldn’t know how to do that!

In a few months time you will hopefully be reading it!

I’m thankful for coffee!

Well, Quite frankly … How would I get through the day without it?

Coffee is just Love in a mug!

….Unless of course you drink tea!

I challenge you to list your top five things your grateful for!

NaNoWriMo | November is the Start of Something Big!

35351-you-are-a-writer-desktop-background

November is National Novel Writing Month. I decided to write a book a little over three months ago and have thrown myself into the world of writers and authors full on and at full speed. It is something I have always wanted to do but never felt the confidence to be able to go ahead and chase the dream. The inspirational time came when I was sat talking to my daughter in a launderette while folding our summer clothes on holiday in Cornwall. I told her that I wanted to write a book. She looked at me with a frown and puzzled look. “You have never wanted to do that”. Well, actually she was wrong. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never looked into it. The fact that I had spoken about this dream out loud was the stepping stone I needed to do it. I can’t tell someone I want to do it and not even attempt to go for it.

Once we arrived home from our holiday I opened an account with WordPress and started this blog which was the first stepping stone to start a dream!

Fast forward three months and we are the start of NaNoWriMo.  I’m on day 4 of what will be a crazy, busy, stressful month of sitting at my laptop writing the transcript for my first book ‘Forgotten Memories’ It has been pretty smooth going so far. I’ve hit my goals each day for my word counts and I’m actually feeling it’s going pretty smoothly! I am fitting in a couple of hours a day and slowly chipping away at a 50’000 word novel as I shovel sand into a box to build sandcastles later once I edit. (I love that quote!) In fact I have totally smashed my word counts! At this rate I will be writing an 80’000 word novel!

It’s exciting! Im actually writing! I feel I’m doing well and I have three people who will be offering critique once the first draft is written and edited.

So anyone reading this who thinks they want to write a novel, DO IT! I wish I had started years ago and hadn’t waited so long to follow a dream!

Tell me about your NaNo journey and your dreams!

Procrastination – The Route of all Evil!!!

procras

As you all know, I decided to jump in not just feet first but head first into the abyss of the swimming pool that is NaNoWriMo! I had the inspiration, a main charector  and a bloody good idea for an amazing psychological thriller. My head was telling me no but my heart was yearning for a childhood dream to be lived. I needed to just get on and do what I have always wanted to do and write a novel. This is something that I’ve always wanted … not just an idea but a dream! I’ve never thought myself capable of something so big and always doubt myself and wonder if I would be capable so I just thought .. ‘Sod It! I’m gonna do it!’ with the backing of my daughter who of course at 15 already knows if I will succeed, she gave me the go ahead to write a book! Thanks for permission daughter!

So October rolls round fast and as accomplished writers and winners of NaNoWriMo know October is actually called Prep-tober in the writer world! We are at the end of the first week and I have done zilch to prepare! How can that be? I have this idea that could be amazing once written and edited but I’m sat trawling through Pinterest searching for posts about story outlines, character profiling and locations which I’m saving to boards for future reference! But I don’t actually have anything written down relating to my story idea!

That my wonderful followers is called Procrastinating at its bloody best!!

I feel like your doing stuff but in actual fact I’m not! I’m web surfing for articles that I haven’t and probably won’t even read or made notes on! What a crazy waste of 7 days, 168 hours, 10’080 minutes and 604’800 seconds of my precious time!!

how-to-stop-procrastinating

And here I am doing it again!  I may as well throw in a video on Procrastination! Just to waste another few minutes of my time! it explains all I actually do in this black hole of wasting time! She has great tips!

Everyday Inspiration – Day 4: A Story in a Single Image

woman-in-the-woods.jpg

So, again I slipped on the blogging university challenges! Oops. I’m back on it now … again Day 4 was to post a photo from a selection provided to spark a post for today. The above image is the one I’ve chosen.

I went to Cornwall in the summer with my family and our local doggy walk looked to be something very similar to this one. I actually posted a photo within a post at the beginning of my blogging journey. So the reason I chose this image? Looking at the photo makes me smile. It’s the serenity the Forrest or woods give me. There is something very special about walking through the trees walking your dog with the morning light peeking through the trees.

Its creates a very calming atmosphere where I can reflect on my life. Suffering from anxiety sometimes you just need the quiet to hear the jumble of thoughts in your mind.   As I hear the morning break with the sounds of birds the feelings of happiness often wash over me. Just getting out in the fresh air gives a feeling of release especially if I’m on my own. If I could have any wish it would be for there to be a wood on my doorstep that I could get up early in the morning and take my little Pup on a walk in. For me the nearest is a 10 minute walk away but believe me with 3 children to get ready for school I don’t have the time first thing to travel to a wood to begin my quiet ideal walk.

 Morning

In the morning sunshine,

I wander through the trees,

Listening to birds,

As I in and out weave.

❤️

The birds tweet a beautiful song,

As I walk Little Pup and reflect, strolling along.

So what about yourselves? Describe what would your ideal doggy walk is or would be? Do you get inspiration first thing in the morning? Do you spend time in the quiet woods to reflect while walk or running too?
